Professional field
In her early career, Dr. Landolt had experience working at a residential home with children and teenagers who suffered severe childhood traumas, including family violence, rape, loss of parents, abandonment issues, etc. Consequently, she realized first-hand that a healthy dynamic within the family is critical for children’s development, which has a profound impact on forming later relationships and choices people make in life.
Later, Dr. Landolt had a chance to work with palliative care patients and their families. She noticed many people did not have a chance or did not even know how to solve their life problems until their last moments. Dr. Landolt believes that the individual wastes so much valuable time and creates unnecessary conflicts due to deep-seated negative emotions. Therefore, she wanted to explore solving these “life problems,” which motivated her to become a clinical psychologist.
Over the years of her clinical practice, there have been many success stories. Dr. Landolt has witnessed many fractured relationships become reconciled, and broken families become reunited. Dr. Landolt believes that “The problem is the problem. The person is not the problem.” She encourages anyone who has questions or would like to seek change in their life to come to talk to her.
Dr. Landolt adopts an integrative approach, including family-focused, attachment styles, and psychodynamic modalities. The individual and family can rebuild trust, repair loving relationships, re-create love and understanding, express emotions openly, establish new communication channels, explore life’s meaning, and live fully together.
Dr. Landolt is also a guest lecturer at various local universities, and is involved with an NGO to enhance a friendly local community to embrace motherhood through breastfeeding.
Dr. Landolt loves spending time with her three lovely sons, watching them play baseball games in her leisure time. She also would spend time with her husband watching Korean dramas and traveling to explore journeys together!
